现任中国地质大学(武汉)地质过程与矿产资源国家重点实验室副主任,三级教授,博士生导师。享受国务院政府特殊津贴专家及湖北省政府专项津贴,国际印度阶与奥伦尼克阶界线工作组(Induan-Olenekian Boundary Working Group,IOBWG)选举委员会委员,美国AGU会员,中国古生物学会会员,国家科技奖励评审专家。长期从事三叠系地层学、牙形石古生物学及演化、沉积地球化学和地质历史时期的重大生物突变事件研究;先后主持5个国家自然基金项目及973子课题等20余项,目前共发表包括Earth-Science ReviewsGeochimica et Cosmochimica ActaScientific ReportsGlobal and Planetary Change在内的SCI文章80余篇,出版英文专著一部。2005年湖北省优秀博士论文(鄂学位{2005}19号),2007年全国优秀博士论文提名奖(教研[2007]3号文件);连续3次获湖北省大型仪器协作先进个人称号。


一、教育经历

1.1984年—1988年,中国地质大学(武汉)地质系地层古生物专业,本科毕业并获学士学位。

2.1988年—1991年,中国地质大学(武汉)研究生院沉积古地理专业,研究生毕业并获硕士学位。

3.2000年—2004年,中国地质大学(武汉)研究生院地层古生物专业,博士毕业并获博士学位。

二、研究工作经历

1.1991年—至今,中国地质大学(武汉)研究生毕业,留校地球科学学院地层古生物教研室,中国地质大学地质过程与矿产资源国家重点实验室,从事科学研究及教学工作,副主任,博导,三级教授。

2.2003年,1—7月,加拿大地质调查局(Geological Survey of Canada,Vancouver)访问学者,师从国际三叠纪分会主席,国际知名牙形石专家Mike Orchard博士合作研究。

主持或参与科研项目情况

主持了国家自然科学基金5项和地质调查项目2项,主要骨干成员参加国家自然科学基金重大研究计划重点项目1项。

1.国家自然科学基金项目,华南及日本西南部三叠纪关键时期海洋酸化作用-来自牙形石钙同位素证据。项目主持人。

2.国家自然科学基金项目,华南晚二叠世至中三叠世牙形石原位锶同位素分析及其在评价古海洋化学条件和陆地风化作用的应用。项目主持人。

3.国家自然科学基金项目,华南古、中生代之交牙形石原位氧同位素分析及其古气候重建。项目主持人。

4.国家自然科学基金项目,华南古、中生代之交牙形石微区元素分析及其重大突变期的启示。项目主持人。

主要学术成果:

(1)建立了华南二叠末期-早三叠世最为精细的海相生物地层格架,成为国际同期地层划分和对比的对比标准,为探索生物与环境之间的关系提供了关键的时间框架和依据。

(2)率先提出以Neospathodus waageni eowaageniZhao的首现作为国际奥伦尼克阶的底界划分的新方案,并对界线地层特征进行准确标定,这将为我国争取全球印度阶—奥伦尼克阶界线的巢湖层型候选剖面作出了开创性贡献,是我国地学研究可载入史册的突破性进展( Zhao et al., 2007,;2008a , b;并获2007年全国优秀博士论文提名奖(教研[2007]3号文件)及湖北省优秀博士论文第一名(鄂学位{2005}19号)和国际三叠纪分会Albertiana(2004,Albertiana, 29: 41-43)封面文章。

(3)率先提出Neospathodus pingdingshanensisZhao的首现点作为国际Smithian-Spathian界线并对界线地层特征进行准确标定,以及为Smithian-Spathian亚阶界线的国际划分标准提供参考( Zhao et al.,2007;2008a , b;获2007年全国优秀博士论文提名奖(教研[2007]3号文件))。

(4)国内率先应用牙形石微区原位元素分析研究,其成果分别发表在2013年Global and Planetary Change和2015年Earth-Science Reviews,为牙形石等壳体化石原位微量元素分析提供新的判别指标。通过我们的研究表明国际上过去诸多研究需要重新评估,也代表本研究方面已走向国际同类研究的领先水平。
